(Imām Bukhārī narrates): Abū al-Yamān narrated to us, he said: Shu'aib informed us, from al-Zuhrī, he said: 'Urwah ibn al-Zubair informed us, from 'Ā'ishah, may Allāh be pleased with her, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, she narrated that:
the Prophet ﷺ used to make this du'ā' in the prayer: O Allāh! I take refuge with You from the punishment of the grave, and I take refuge with You from the tribulation of al-Masīh al-Dajjāl, and I take refuge with You from the tribulation of life and death. O Allāh! I take refuge with You from sin and debt. Then someone said to him: You seek refuge from debt very much; he said: When a person is in debt, he speaks and lies, and he promises and breaks his promise.
Muhammad ibn Yūsuf said: I heard Khalaf ibn 'Āmir saying that there is no difference between "al-Masīh" and "al-Massīh" with the doubled letter; both have the same meaning. One of them is 'Īsā, upon him peace, and the other is al-Dajjāl.
