(Imām Bukhārī narrates): Ādam narrated to us, he said: Shu'bah narrated to us, he said: Sayyār ibn Sulaimān narrated to us, he said:
I and my father went to Abū Barzah al-Aslamī, may Allāh be pleased with him, and we asked him about the times of the prayers. So he told us that the Prophet ﷺ used to pray the Zuhr prayer at the time of the sun's decline, and used to pray the 'Asr prayer at a time when a person could return from the far end of Madīnah while the sun was still shining. And I have forgotten what he said about Maghrib. And he did not mind delaying the 'Ishā' prayer until a third of the night, and he disliked sleeping before the 'Ishā' prayer, and he disliked talking after 'Ishā'. And he used to pray the Fajr prayer at a time when a person, on turning from the prayer, could recognize the one sitting with him, and he used to recite from sixty to a hundred verses in the two rak'ahs, or in one of the two rak'ahs.
