(Imām Bukhārī narrates): 'Abdullāh ibn Maslamah narrated to us, from Imām Mālik ibn Anas, from Ayyūb ibn Abī Tamīmah al-Sakhtiyānī, from Muhammad ibn Sīrīn, from Abū Hurairah, may Allāh be pleased with him, that:
the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ prayed two rak'ahs and then turned around, so Dhū al-Yadain said to him: O Messenger of Allāh! Has the prayer been shortened, or have you forgotten? Then the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ asked: Has Dhū al-Yadain spoken the truth? So the worshippers said: Yes indeed! Then the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ prayed two more rak'ahs, then he gave the salām and said "Allāhu Akbar", then he performed sajdah similar to his (usual) sajdah, or longer than it.
