(Imām Bukhārī narrates that) Muhammad ibn Sinān narrated to us, he said: Fulaih narrated to us (ح) he said: Ibrāhīm ibn al-Mundhir narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Fulaih narrated to us, he said: My father narrated to me, he said: Hilāl ibn Alī narrated to me, from Atā ibn Yasār, from Abū Hurairah, may Allāh be pleased with him, he said:
We were sitting with the Prophet ﷺ in a gathering; he was narrating a hadith to the Companions when a bedouin came and said: When will the Hour come? The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ remained engaged in his talk. Some of the Companions said: He heard his words and disliked them, and some said: Rather, he did not hear, until when he completed his hadith he said: Where is he? The narrator says: I think he said this about the one whom I had seen asking about the Hour. The questioner said: O Messenger of Allāh! I am here. He said: When trust is lost, then wait for the Hour. The questioner said: How will trust be lost? He said: When authority is entrusted to those unfit for it, then wait for the Hour.
