Ibrāhīm ibn Mūsā narrated to us; Hishām ibn Yūsuf informed us; Ma'mar informed us; from al-Zuhrī; from Sa'īd ibn al-Musayyib;
from Abū Hurayrah (may Allāh be content with him), who said: The Messenger of Allāh said on the night when he was taken on the Night Journey (Isrāʾ): “I saw Mūsā (Moses), and he was a tall man with curly hair, as if he were one of the men of Shanūʾah. And I saw 'Īsā (Jesus), and he was of medium height, reddish in complexion, as though he had just come out of a bathhouse. And among the descendants of Ibrāhīm (Abraham), I resemble him the most. Then, two vessels were brought to me: one containing milk and the other wine. It was said, ‘Drink whichever of them you wish.’ So, I took the milk and drank it. Then it was said: ‘You have chosen the natural disposition (fiṭrah). Had you taken the wine, your community would have gone astray.’
