(Imām Bukhārī narrates): Abu Nu'aim narrated to us, he said: Ibrahim bin Nafi' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, he said: Hazrat Aisha (may Allāh be pleased with her) informed that

any of us would have only one garment, in which her menses would come; so when some blood got on that garment, she would apply her saliva on it, then scrape it off with her fingernail.
