(Imām Bukhārī narrates): Abul Yaman narrated the hadith to us, he said: Shu'aib informed us, from az-Zuhri, he said: Salim informed me, from Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (Allāh be pleased with them both), he narrated that
I saw, when the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ had to depart quickly, he ﷺ would delay the Maghrib prayer, until he ﷺ would combine the prayers of Maghrib and Isha. Salim said: And Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (Allāh be pleased with them both) also used to do the same; when he had to depart quickly, he would say the Iqamah for Maghrib, then offer its three rak'ahs, then turn with salam, then wait a little while, until he would say the Iqamah for Isha, so he would offer its two rak'ahs, then turn with salam, then he would not offer even a single rak'ah of voluntary prayer between them, nor perform any prostration after Isha, until he would rise in the middle of the night.
