(Imām Bukhārī narrates): Ishaq bin Ibrahim bin Nasr narrated to me, he said: Abdul Razzaq narrated to me, he said: Ibn Juraij narrated to us, he said: Ata informed me from Jabir bin Abdullah, may Allāh be pleased with them both, Ata said: I heard Jabir saying that
the Prophet ﷺ stood up on the day of Eid al-Fitr, then he led the prayer, then he gave the sermon. So when he finished, he came down (from the pulpit), then he went to the women, so he admonished them. At that time he was leaning on the hand of Bilal, may Allāh be pleased with him, and Bilal had spread out a garment, and the women were putting charity into that garment.
I asked Ata: Was that the Fitrah of Eid al-Fitr? He said: No! Rather it was charity which those women were giving as charity. Those women would remove their plain ring (a ring without a stone) and put it (into the garment). I asked: Is it obligatory upon the Imam to give this admonition? He said: Yes! It is obligatory upon them, what is wrong with them that they do not do this!
