Al-Imām al-Bukhārī narrates: Abū al-Yamān narrated to us; he said: Shu’ayb informed us from al-Zuhrī.
He said: Anas ibn Mālik (may Allāh Almighty be content with him) informed me that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ came out, whereupon ‘Abdullāh ibn Ḥudhāfah stood up and said: “Who is my father?” The Prophet ﷺ replied: “Your father is Ḥudhāfah.” Then the Prophet ﷺ repeatedly said: “Ask me.” At that point, ‘Umar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb (may Allāh Almighty be content with him) sat down on his knees and said: “We are pleased with Allāh as our Lord, with Islam as our religion, and with Muḥammad ﷺ as our Prophet.” After that, the Prophet ﷺ became silent.
