(Imām Bukhārī narrates): Ibrahim bin Al-Mundhir narrated to us, he said: Al-Walid bin Muslim narrated to us, he said: Abu Amr narrated to us, he said: Ishaq bin Abdullah bin Talha narrated to me from Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), he said that

in the time of the Prophet ﷺ a famine came upon the people. So when the Prophet ﷺ was delivering the sermon on the day of Friday, a villager stood up and said: O Messenger of Allah! The wealth has perished and the children are hungry, so pray to Allah for us. Then he raised both his hands. We were not seeing any piece of cloud in the sky at that time. So by the One in whose grip and power my soul is! He had not yet lowered his hands when clouds gathered like mountains. Then he had not yet come down from the pulpit when I saw rain dripping upon his ﷺ beard. Then it rained upon us that day, and it rained the next day, and it rained the day after that, and it rained the day close after that, until it rained up to the next Friday. And that villager stood up, or someone else, and he said: O Messenger of Allah! The houses have collapsed and the wealth has drowned, so pray to Allah for us. Then he raised both his hands, then prayed: O Allah! Rain down around us, do not rain down upon us. Then whichever direction he pointed his hand towards the cloud, the clouds would move away, and the whole of Madinah became like a basin, and the stream of the valley of Qanat kept flowing for a month, and from whichever direction a person came, he brought news of the abundance of rain.
