(Imām Bukhārī narrates): Muhammad ibn al-'Alā' narrated to us, he said: Abū Usāmah narrated to us, from Buraid, from Abī Burdah, from Abū Mūsā al-Ash'arī, may Allāh be pleased with him, he narrates that the Prophet ﷺ was asked about certain matters which he disliked. When more questions were asked of him, he became angry. Then he said to the people:

Ask me whatever you wish. A person said: Who is my father? He said: Your father is Hudhāfah. Then another stood up and said: O Messenger of Allāh! Who is my father? He said: Your father is Sālim, the freed slave of Shaibah. When 'Umar saw what signs (of anger) there were on his face, he said: O Messenger of Allāh! We turn in repentance to Allāh, Mighty and Glorious.
