(Imām Bukhārī narrates): Muhammad bin Mu'ammar narrated the hadeeth to us, he said: Abu Asim narrated the hadeeth to us, from Jarir bin Hazim, he said: I heard from Hasan, he says: Hazrat Amr bin Taghlib, Allāh be pleased with him, narrated the hadeeth to us that
wealth came to the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ, or captives came, he distributed this wealth, he gave to some people and left others. Then news reached him that the people whom he had left were displeased. So he praised Allāh and glorified Him, then said: "Amma ba'd" (after praise and glorification), then, by Allāh! I give to one person and leave another person, and the person whom I leave is more beloved to me than the person to whom I give, but I give to those people in whose hearts I see intense greed and impatience, and those in whose hearts Allāh has placed contentment and goodness, those people I entrust to their contentment; among them is Amr bin Taghlib. Hazrat Amr bin Taghlib said: so by Allāh! In exchange for this saying of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ, even if red camels were given to me, they would not be as beloved to me.
Yunus has corroborated this hadeeth.
