(Imām Bukhārī narrates): Abu Nu'aim narrated to us, he said: 'Abdul 'Aziz bin Abi Salamah al-Majishun narrated to us from al-Zuhri from al-Sa'ib bin Yazid, he said,
"The one who added the third adhan on the day of Jumu'ah was Hadhrat 'Uthman bin 'Affan (may Allāh be pleased with him), when the people of Madinah increased in number, and the Prophet ﷺ had no mu'adhdhin except one, and the adhan on the day of Jumu'ah used to be given when the imam sat on the pulpit."
