(Imām Bukhārī narrates): Ali narrated to us, he said: Harami bin Umarah narrated to us, he said: Shu'bah narrated to us, from Abu Bakr bin al-Munkadir, he said: Amr bin Sulaim al-Ansari narrated to me, he said: I bear witness that Hazrat Abu Sa'eed said: I bear witness that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said that:

Taking a bath on the day of Friday is obligatory upon every adult, and he should use the miswak, and if perfume is available to him, he should apply perfume.

Amr said: As for the bath, I bear witness that it is obligatory. And as for the miswak and perfume, Allāh alone knows whether it is obligatory or not, but it is in the hadith like this. Imam Abu Abdullah said: He is the brother of Muhammad bin al-Munkadir, and Abu Bakr's name was not mentioned. And this hadith has been narrated from them by Bukair bin al-Ashajj and Sa'eed bin Abi Hilal and several others. And Muhammad bin al-Munkadir's kunyah is Abu Bakr and Abu Abdullah.
