Sahih Al Bukhari 86

Al-Imām al-Bukhārī narrates: Mūsā ibn Ismā’īl narrated to us; he said: Wuhayb narrated to us; he said: Hishām narrated to us, from Fāṭimah,

from Asmā’, who said: I came to ‘Ā’ishah (may Allāh Almighty be content with her) while she was praying. I asked, “What is the matter with the people?” She pointed towards the sky. At that time the people were standing in prayer. ‘Ā’ishah said, “Subḥānallāh!” I asked, “Is this a sign?” She replied by nodding her head, “Yes.” So I also stood up (to pray) until I was about to faint, so I poured water over my head. Then the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ praised and glorified Allāh and said: “Everything that I had not seen before, I have seen it at this place, even Paradise and Hell. And it has been revealed to me that you will be tested in your graves, similar to — or close to — the trial of the Dajjāl.” (The narrator says: I do not remember exactly what Asmā’ said.) It will be said to the person: “What did you know about this man?” As for the believer or the one with firm faith (the narrator says: I do not remember which expression Asmā’ used), he will say: “He is Muḥammad (ﷺ), the Messenger of Allāh. He came to us with clear proofs and evidences, so we responded to him and followed him,” and he will say this three times: “He is Muḥammad (ﷺ).” Then it will be said to him: “Sleep in comfort; we knew that you truly believed in him.” As for the hypocrite or the doubter (the narrator says: I do not know which term Asmā’ used), he will say: “I do not know. I only said what I heard the people saying.”
