Al-Imām al-Bukhārī narrates: al-Makkī ibn Ibrāhīm narrated to us; he said: Ḥanẓalah ibn Abī Sufyān narrated to us,
from Sālim. He said: I heard Abū Hurayrah (may Allāh Almighty be content with him) say that the Prophet ﷺ said: “Knowledge will be taken away, ignorance and trials will appear, and harj will become widespread.” It was asked: “O Messenger of Allāh! What is harj?” He gestured with his hand across his neck, as if indicating by this word killing.
