(Imām Bukhārī narrates): Ali bin Abdullah narrated to us, he said: Sufyan informed us from Amr, he said: Kuraib informed me from Ibn Abbas, may Allāh be pleased with them both, he said: I spent a night at the house of my aunt Maimunah, may Allāh be pleased with her. So the Prophet ﷺ went to sleep, then when part of the night had passed, the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ stood up. So he performed a light wudu from a hanging waterskin. Amr said: It was a very light and small wudu. Then he stood up and began to pray. So I also got up and I performed wudu like his wudu. Then I came and stood on his left side, then he turned me and placed me on his right side, then he prayed as long as Allāh willed, then he lay down on his side, until he began to snore. Then the mu'adhdhin came to him and informed him of the prayer. He stood up with him for the prayer. He led the prayer and did not perform wudu.

We said to Amr: People say that the eyes of the Prophet ﷺ sleep but his heart does not sleep. Amr said: I heard Ubaid bin Umar saying that the dreams of the Prophets, peace be upon them, are revelation. Then he recited this verse: Indeed, I see in a dream that I am sacrificing you. (As-Saffat: )
