Sub-Chapter (Baab)

Sahih Al Bukhari 83

Al-Imām al-Bukhārī narrates: Ismā’īl narrated to us; he said: Imām Mālik narrated to me, from Ibn Shihāb, from ‘Īsā ibn Ṭalḥah ibn ‘Ubaydullāh,

from ‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Amr ibn al-‘Āṣ (may Allāh Almighty be content with both of them): The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ was standing at Minā during the Farewell Pilgrimage, answering people’s questions. A man came and said: “I did not realise, so I shaved my head before slaughtering.” He ﷺ said: “Slaughter now; there is no harm.” Then another man came and said: “I did not realise, and I slaughtered before stoning (the pillars).” He ﷺ said: “Stone now; there is no harm.” Whatever matter the Prophet ﷺ was asked about that day—whether something had been done earlier or later than its proper order—he replied: “Do it now; there is no harm.”
