Sub-Chapter (Baab)

Sahih Al Bukhari 837

(Imām Bukhārī narrates): Mūsā ibn Ismā'īl narrated to us, he said: Ibrāhīm ibn Sa'd narrated to us, he said: Al-Zuhrī narrated to us, from Hind bint al-Hārith, that Umm Salamah, may Allāh be pleased with her, narrated that:

when the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ gave the salām for the prayer, the women would stand up as soon as he gave the salām, and he would remain seated for a little while before standing up.

Ibn Shihāb said: And Allāh knows best! My opinion is that he remained seated so that the women might leave before those praying went back.
