(Imām Bukhārī narrates): Abū al-Yamān narrated to us, he said: Shu'aib narrated to us, from al-Zuhrī, he said: Abū Bakr ibn 'Abdur-Rahmān ibn al-Hārith ibn Hishām and Abū Salamah ibn 'Abdur-Rahmān informed me that:

Abū Hurairah, may Allāh be pleased with him, used to pronounce the takbīr in every prayer, whether it was an obligatory prayer or not, whether it was Ramadān or not. So when he stood up in prayer, he pronounced the takbīr, then he pronounced the takbīr at the time of rukū', then before sajdah he said "Sami'a Allāhu liman hamidah," then he said "Rabbanā wa laka al-hamd," then while going down into sajdah he said "Allāhu Akbar," then while raising his head from sajdah he said "Allāhu Akbar," then while standing up after sitting following the two sajdahs he said "Allāhu Akbar," and he did likewise in every rak'ah, until he finished the prayer. Then after finishing the prayer he would say: By the One in whose hand and power is my life! I am bringing you a prayer close to the resemblance of the prayer of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ; indeed this was surely the prayer of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ until he departed from this world.
