(Imām Bukhārī narrates): Abū Nu'aim narrated to us, he said: Shaibān narrated to us, from Yahyā, from 'Abdullāh ibn Abī Qatādah, from his father, he narrated that:

the Prophet ﷺ used to recite Sūrat al-Fātihah and two sūrahs in the first two rak'ahs of the Zuhr prayer; he used to recite at length in the first rak'ah and recite less in the second rak'ah, and sometimes he made us hear a verse. And in the 'Asr prayer (also) he used to recite Sūrat al-Fātihah and two sūrahs, and he used to recite the first rak'ah at length. And he used to recite the first rak'ah of the Fajr prayer at length also, and he used to recite the second rak'ah briefly.
