(Imām Bukhārī narrates): Abū al-Nu'mān narrated to us, he said: Abū 'Awānah narrated to us, from 'Abdul-Malik ibn 'Umair, from Jābir ibn Samurah, may Allāh be pleased with him, he narrates that Sa'd, may Allāh be pleased with him, said:
I lead the people of Kūfah in prayer in the manner that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ used to lead the Zuhr or 'Asr prayer; I do not fall short in it. I stand long in the first two rak'ahs and shorten the last two rak'ahs. 'Umar, may Allāh be pleased with him, said: This is what was thought about you.
