Al-Imām al-Bukhārī narrates that ‘Alī related to us; he said: Sufyān narrated to us. He said: Ibn Abī Najīḥ narrated to me, from Mujāhid, who said:

I stayed with Ibn ‘Umar (may Allāh Almighty be content with both of them) until Madīnah, and I heard from him only one hadith from the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ. He said: We were sitting with the Prophet ﷺ when the heart (inner core) of a date-palm tree was brought to him, which resembles fat. He said: “Among the trees there is one tree that resembles a Muslim.” It occurred to me to say that it was the date-palm tree, but I was the youngest among those present, so I remained silent. Then the Prophet ﷺ said: “It is the date-palm tree.”
