((Imām Bukhārī narrates) that) 'Alī narrated to us, he said: Sufyān narrated to us, he said: Ibn Abī Najīh said to me, from Mujāhid, he said:

I remained with Ibn 'Umar, may Allāh be pleased with them both, up to Madīnah. I heard from him only one hadith of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ. He said: We were sitting with the Prophet ﷺ when the gum of the date-palm tree was brought to him, which resembles fat. He said: Among the trees there is a tree which resembles the Muslim. It came into my heart that I should say that it is the date-palm tree, but I was the youngest among those present, so I remained silent. The Prophet ﷺ said: It is the date-palm tree.
