Al-Imām al-Bukhārī narrates that Sa’īd ibn ‘Ufayr related to us; he said: Ibn Wahb narrated to us, from Yūnus, from Ibn Shihāb. He said that Ḥumayd ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān said:

I heard Mu’āwiyah (may Allāh Almighty be content with him) delivering a sermon in which he said that he heard the Prophet ﷺ say: “Whomever Allāh intends good for, He grants him understanding (fiqh) of the religion. I am only a distributor, and Allāh is the Giver. This Ummah will continue to remain established upon the religion of Allāh, and the opposition of those who oppose it will not harm it, until the command of Allāh comes (i.e. the Day of Resurrection).”
