Sub-Chapter (Baab)

Sahih Al Bukhari 70

Al-Imām al-Bukhārī narrates that ‘Uthmān ibn Abī Shaybah related to us; he said: Jarīr narrated to us, from Manṣūr,

from Abū Wā’il, who said: ‘Abdullāh ibn Mas’ūd (may Allāh Almighty be content with him) used to advise the people every Thursday. A man said to him: “O Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, I wish that you would advise us every day.” Ibn Mas’ūd said: “What prevents me from doing so is that I dislike causing you weariness and tiredness. I observe consideration and care for you in giving advice, just as the Prophet ﷺ would observe consideration and care for us, out of fear that we might become weary or tired.”
