(Imām Bukhārī narrates): Ibrāhīm ibn Mūsā narrated to us, he said: Al-Walīd informed us, he said: Al-Awzā'ī narrated to us, from Yahyā ibn Abī Kathīr, from 'Abdullāh ibn Abī Qatādah, from his father Abū Qatādah, from the Prophet ﷺ, he said:

I stand for prayer and intend to make the prayer long, then I hear the sound of a child crying, so I shorten the prayer, disliking that the length should become difficult for its mother.

Bishr ibn Bakr, Ibn al-Mubārak, and Baqiyyah have corroborated al-Walīd ibn Muslim, from al-Awzā'ī.
