(Imām Bukhārī narrates): Muhammad ibn Yūsuf narrated to us, he said: Sufyān narrated to us, from Ismā'īl ibn Abī Khālid, from Qais ibn Abī Hāzim, from Ibn Mas'ūd, may Allāh be pleased with him, he narrated that:

a person narrated: O Messenger of Allāh! I leave the Fajr congregation because such-and-such a person makes the prayer very long. So the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ became very severely angry; I never saw him so angry anywhere more than that day. He said: O people! Some of you cause aversion in people. So whoever leads the people in prayer should be brief, because behind him there are the weak, the elderly, and those with needs.
