(Imām Bukhārī narrates): Ahmad ibn Yūnus narrated to us, he said: Zuhair narrated to us, he said: Ismā'īl narrated to us, he said: I heard Qais, he said: Abū Mas'ūd, may Allāh be pleased with him, informed me that:

a person said: By Allāh! O Messenger of Allāh! I leave the Fajr prayer because of a certain person, because he makes the prayer very long for us. So I had never seen the Prophet ﷺ giving exhortation with such anger before that day. Then he said: Some of you cause aversion in people. Whoever among you leads the people in prayer, let him pray with brevity, because among the people there are the weak, and there are the elderly, and there are those with needs.
