((Imām Bukhārī narrates) that) Ismā'īl narrated to us, he said: Imām Mālik narrated to me, from Ishāq ibn 'Abdullāh ibn Abī Talhah, that Abū Murrah, the freed slave of 'Aqīl ibn Abī Tālib, informed him, from Abū Wāqid al-Laithī:
that at the time when the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ was sitting in the mosque with the people, at that time three persons came. Two of them came forward towards the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ, and one went away. Those two stood by the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ. One of them saw an opening in the circle, so he sat there, and the other sat behind the gathering, and the third turned his back and went away. Then when the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ finished, he said: Listen! Shall I not inform you about these three persons? One of them sought refuge in Allāh, so Allāh gave him refuge; and the other felt shy before Allāh, so Allāh will also show shyness towards him; and the third turned away, so Allāh will also turn away from him.
