(Imām Bukhārī narrates that) Ismā'īl ibn 'Abdullāh narrated to us, he said: Ibrāhīm ibn Sa'd narrated to me, from Sālih, from Ibn Shihāb, from 'Ubaidullāh ibn 'Abdullāh ibn 'Utbah ibn Mas'ūd, that 'Abdullāh ibn 'Abbās, may Allāh be pleased with them both, informed him that:

the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ sent a person with his letter, and commanded him to give this letter to the ruler of Bahrain. The ruler of Bahrain gave that letter to Kisrā. When he read that letter, he tore it into pieces. Ibn Shihāb says, I think that Ibn al-Musayyab said that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ made this supplication against them: May they be torn into pieces, complete pieces.
