Imam Bukhari narrates: Abu Nu'aim narrated to us, he said: Shaiban narrated to us from Yahya, he said: I heard Abu Salamah saying that Jabir, may Allāh be pleased with them both, informed us that
on the day of the battle of the Khandaq, Umar bin al-Khattab, may Allāh be pleased with him, came to the Prophet ﷺ, and he said: O Messenger of Allāh! By Allāh, I have not been able to pray until the sun is now about to set, and this was at the time when the one fasting breaks his fast. Then the Prophet ﷺ said: By Allāh, I too have not prayed. Then the Prophet ﷺ went to a valley of Madinah, and I was with him too. Then he performed wudu and led the prayer, that is Asr, after the sun had set, then after that he led the Maghrib prayer.
