Al-Imām al-Bukhārī narrates that Khālid ibn Makhlad reported to us; he said: Sulaymān narrated to us; he said: ‘Abdullāh ibn Dīnār narrated to us
from Ibn ‘Umar (may Allāh be content with him) who said: The Prophet ﷺ said: “Among the trees there is a tree whose leaves do not fall, and it is like the Muslim. So tell me—which tree is it?” Ibn ‘Umar said: People began thinking about the trees of the desert. He continued: It came to my mind that it is the date-palm tree. Then, the Companions said: “O Messenger of Allāh, tell us—what tree is it?” The Prophet ﷺ said: “It is the date-palm tree.”
