Al-Imām al-Bukhārī narrates that Qutaybah reported to us; he said: Ismā‘īl ibn Ja‘far narrated to us from ‘Abdullāh ibn Dīnār

Ibn ‘Umar (may Allāh be content with him) that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: “Indeed, among the trees there is a tree whose leaves do not fall, and it is like the Muslim. So, tell me, which tree is it?” People began thinking of the desert trees. Ibn ‘Umar said: It came to my mind that it is the date-palm tree, but I felt shy to say it. Then, the Companions said: “O Messenger of Allāh, tell us, which tree is it?” The Prophet ﷺ replied: “It is the date-palm tree.”
