(Imām Bukhārī narrates that) Qutaibah narrated to us, he said: Ismā'īl ibn Ja'far narrated to us, from 'Abdullāh ibn Dīnār, from Ibn 'Umar, may Allāh be pleased with them both, that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said:

Indeed, among the trees there is a tree whose leaves do not fall, and indeed it is like the Muslim, "fahaddithūnī" (so tell me) which tree is it? The minds of the people went to the trees of the forest. 'Abdullāh ibn 'Umar said: It came into my heart that it is the date-palm tree, but I felt shy (from telling). Then the Companions said: O Messenger of Allāh! "Haddithnā" (tell us) which tree is it? He said: It is the date-palm tree.
