Al-Imām al-Bukhārī narrates that Abū al-Nu‘mān ‘Arim ibn al-Fadl reported to us; he said: Abū ‘Awānah narrated to us from Abū Bishr, from Yūsuf ibn Mālik, from ‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Amr (may Allāh be content with him), who said:

We once went on a journey with the Prophet ﷺ. During that journey, we fell behind, and when the Prophet ﷺ caught up with us, the time for prayer had been delayed. We began performing ablution and started wiping over our feet (instead of washing them). The Prophet ﷺ, in a loud voice, said two or three times: “Woe to the heels from the Fire (of Hell)!”
