Imām Bukhārī narrates: 'Abdullāh ibn Yūsuf narrated to us, he said: Imām Mālik narrated to us, from Abī al-Zinād, from al-A'raj, from Abū Hurairah, may Allāh be pleased with him, he narrates that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said:
The angels of the night and the angels of the day come to you by turns, and they gather in the Fajr prayer and in the 'Asr prayer. Then those angels who spent the night with you go up, and Allāh asks them, although He knows better than them: In what state did you leave My servants? They will say: We left them in a state that they were praying, and when we came to them they were praying.
