Imām Bukhārī narrates: Muhammad ibn Muqātil narrated to us, he said: 'Abdullāh informed us, he said: 'Awf informed us, from Sayyār ibn Salāmah, he narrated that:

I and my father went to Abū Barzah al-Aslamī, may Allāh be pleased with him. So my father asked him: How did the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ pray the obligatory prayers? He narrated that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ used to pray at midday — the prayer which you call the pēshīn (the first prayer) — at the time when the sun had declined, and he prayed the 'Asr prayer, then any one of us would go to his house in the far part of Madīnah, and the sun would still be shining. And I have forgotten what he said about Maghrib. And he liked to delay the 'Ishā' prayer, which you call 'atmah (the dark one). And he disliked sleeping before 'Ishā' and talking after 'Ishā'. And he used to return from the Fajr prayer at a time when a person could recognize the one sitting with him, and he used to recite from sixty to a hundred verses.
