Imam Bukhari narrates: 'Abdullah bin Yusuf narrated to us the hadeeth, he said: Malik bin Anas informed us, from 'Abdullah bin Dinar, from Hazrat 'Abdullah bin 'Umar (may Allāh be pleased with them both), he narrates that

at the time when the people were in the morning prayer in Quba, a comer came and said: The Qur'an has been revealed upon the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ tonight, and he has been commanded to turn his face towards the Qiblah, so you also turn your faces towards the Qiblah. At that time the faces of the worshippers were towards Sham, they immediately turned towards the Ka'bah.
