Sahih Al Bukhari 366

a man asked the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ what a muhrim should wear. He said: He should not wear a shirt, and he should not wear trousers, and he should not wear a cap, and he should not wear a cloth dyed with saffron or wars, and whoever does not find shoes should wear khuffain and cut them from below until they are below the ankles. And from Nafi', from Ibn 'Umar (may Allāh be pleased with both of them), from the Prophet ﷺ, the like of this hadith is narrated.
