‘Abdullāh ibn Muḥammad ibn Asmā’, the nephew of Juwayriyah, narrated to us; Juwayriyah ibn Asmāʾ narrated to us; from Mālik; from al-Zuhrī, that Sa’īd ibn al-Musayyib and Abū ‘Ubayd informed him,

from Abū Hurayrah (may Allāh be content with him), who said: The Messenger of Allāh said: “May Allāh have mercy on Lūṭ (upon whom be peace); indeed, he used to seek refuge in a strong support. And if I had (hypothetically) remained in prison for as long as Yūsuf (upon whom be peace) remained, then when the caller came to me, I would have responded to him.”
