Muḥammad ibn Miskīn Abū al-Ḥasan narrated to us; Yaḥyā ibn Ḥassān ibn Ḥayyān Abū Zakariyyā narrated to us; Sulaymān narrated to us; from ‘Abdullāh ibn Dīnār; from Ibn ‘Umar (may Allāh be content with them both): When the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ stopped at al-Ḥijr during the expedition of Tabūk, he ordered them not to drink from its wells and not to draw water from them. They said: “We have already kneaded dough with its water and drawn from it.” So, he ordered them to throw away that dough and to pour out that water. It is also narrated from Sabrā ibn Ma’bad and Abū al-Shumūs that the Prophet ﷺ commanded that the food be discarded.

And Abū Dharr narrated from the Prophet ﷺ: “Whoever has kneaded dough with its water…” (i.e. should discard it).
