Aḥmad ibn Ṣāliḥ narrated to us; Ibn Wahb narrated to us; he said: Yūnus informed me, from Ibn Shihāb, from Abū Salamah ibn ‘Abd al-Raḥmān and Sa’īd ibn al-Musayyib,
from Abū Hurayrah (may Allāh be content with him): That the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: “We have more right to doubt than Ibrāhīm (upon whom be peace) when he said: ‘My Lord, show me how You give life to the dead.’ He said: ‘Do you not believe?’ He said: ‘Yes, but so that my heart may be reassured.’ And may Allāh have mercy on Lūt (upon whom be peace); he indeed used to seek refuge in a strong support. And if I had remained in prison for as long as Yūsuf (upon whom be peace) remained, I would have answered the caller.”
