(Imām Bukhārī narrates): Yahya bin Bukair narrated to us, he said: Laith narrated to us, from Ja'far bin Rabi'ah, from Al-A'raj, he said: I heard Umair, the freed slave of Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allāh be pleased with both of them), he said:
I and Abdullah bin Yasar, the freed slave of Hazrat Maimunah, wife of the Prophet ﷺ, came until we entered the house of Hazrat Abu Juhaim bin Al-Harith bin As-Simmah Al-Ansari (may Allāh be pleased with him). Hazrat Abu Juhaim said: The Prophet ﷺ came from the direction of Bi'r Jamal; a man met him and greeted him with salam. The Prophet ﷺ did not answer him until he came near a wall, and wiped his face and hands, then answered his salam.
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ، عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عُمَيْرًا مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ أَقْبَلْتُ أَنَا وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَسَارٍ، مَوْلَى مَيْمُونَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، حَتَّى دَخَلْنَا عَلَى أَبِي جُهَيْمِ بْنِ الحَارِثِ بْنِ الصِّمَّةِ الأَنْصَارِيِّ، فَقَالَ أَبُو الجُهَيْمِ الأَنْصَارِيُّ
أَقْبَلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ نَحْوِ بِئْرِ جَمَلٍ فَلَقِيَهُ رَجُلٌ فَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْهِ فَلَمْ يَرُدَّ عَلَيْهِ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى أَقْبَلَ عَلَى الجِدَارِ، فَمَسَحَ بِوَجْهِهِ وَيَدَيْهِ، ثُمَّ رَدَّ عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمَ
