‘Abdullāh ibn Yūsuf narrated to us; he said: Mālik ibn Anas informed us, from ‘Abdullāh ibn Abī Bakr ibn Muḥammad ibn ‘Amr ibn Ḥazm, from his father, from ‘Amr ibn Sulaym al-Zurqī, who said:

Abū Ḥumayd al-Sā’idī (may Allāh be content with him) informed me that they said: “O Messenger of Allāh, how should we send prayers upon you?” The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: “Say: O Allāh, send blessings upon Muhammad (ﷺ) and his wives and his offspring, just as You sent blessings upon the family of (the Prophet) Ibrāhīm. And grant blessings upon Muhammad )and his wives and his offspring, just as You granted blessings upon the family of (the Prophet )ﷺ( Ibrāhīm. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy, Glorious.”
