Aḥmad ibn Sa’īd Abū ‘Abdullāh narrated to me; Wahb ibn Jarīr narrated to us from his father, from Ayyūb, from ‘Abdullāh ibn Sa’īd ibn Jubayr, from his father,

from ‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Abbās (may Allāh Almighty be content with both of them), from the Prophet ﷺ who said: “May Allāh have mercy on the mother of the Prophet Ismā’īl. If she had not hastened, Zamzam would have become a flowing spring.”

Al-Anṣārī said: Ibn Jurayj narrated to us. As for Kathīr ibn Kathīr, he narrated to me saying: “I and ‘Uthmān ibn Abī Sulaymān were sitting with Sa’īd ibn Jubayr, and he said: ‘Ibn ‘Abbās did not narrate it to me exactly like this.’ He said: ‘Ibrāhīm (Abraham) brought Ismā’īl (peace be upon them) and his mother—Allāh be content with her—while she was nursing him, and she had with her a water-skin (container).’ (The narrator said: he did not attribute this part directly to the Prophet ﷺ.) Then Ibrāhīm (upon whom be peace) brought her and her son Ismāʿīl (upon whom be peace) there
