Yaḥyā ibn Sulaymān narrated to us, he said: Ibn Wahb narrated to me, he said: ‘Amr informed me that Bukayr narrated to him from Kurayb, the freed slave of Ibn ‘Abbās,

from Ibn ‘Abbās (may Allāh be content with them both), who said: The Prophet entered the House (the Ka’bah) and found in it an image of Ibrāhīm and an image of Maryam. He said: “What is the matter with them? They have certainly heard that the angels do not enter a house in which there is an image. This is Ibrāhīm (upon whom be peace) depicted — so, what is the reason for him having arrows used in fortune-telling (shown in his hand)?”
