(Imām Bukhārī narrates): Abdullah bin Yusuf narrated to us, he said: Imam Malik informed us, from Abdur Rahman bin Al-Qasim, from his father, from Hazrat Aisha, wife of the Prophet ﷺ (may Allāh be pleased with her), she said that

we set out with the Prophet ﷺ on a journey, until when we reached the place of Al-Baida or Dhat Al-Jaish, my necklace broke and fell. So the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ stopped to search for it, and the people also stopped with him, and the people were not near water. Then the people came to Hazrat Abu Bakr As-Siddiq (may Allāh be pleased with him) and said: Do you not see what Hazrat Aisha has done? She has held up the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ and the people, while the people are not near water, nor do the people have water with them! Then Hazrat Abu Bakr came, and at that time the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ had gone to sleep with his head on my lap; he said: You have held up the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ and the people, while the people are not near water, nor do the people have water with them! Hazrat Aisha says: Hazrat Abu Bakr scolded me, and said whatever Allāh willed, and he was pinching my side with his hand, and nothing prevented me from moving, except that the Messenger of Allāh's ﷺ head was on my lap. Then in the morning the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ got up; there was no water there at that time. So Allāh the Exalted revealed the verse of Tayammum: "So perform Tayammum." Then Usaid bin Al-Hudair said: O family of Abu Bakr! This is not the first blessing of yours! Hazrat Aisha said: Then we lifted up the camel on which I had been riding, and we found the necklace beneath it.
