Yahyā ibn Bukayr narrated to us, al-Layth narrated to us, from ‘Uqayl, from Ibn Shihāb, from ‘Urwah ibn al-Zubayr, that Zaynab bint Abī Salamah narrated to him from Umm Ḥabībah bint Abī Sufyān,

from Zaynab bint Jaḥsh (may Allāh be content with them), that the Prophet ﷺ entered upon her in a state of alarm, saying: “There is no god but Allāh! Woe to the Arabs from an evil that has drawn near. Today, a hole like this has been opened in the barrier of Gog and Magog,” and he made a Halq (circle) with his thumb and the finger next to it. Zaynab bint Jaḥsh said: I said, “O Messenger of Allāh, will we be destroyed while righteous people are among us?” He said: “Yes, if wickedness becomes widespread.”
