‘Abdullāh ibn Muḥammad narrated to me; ‘Abd al-Razzāq narrated to us; from Ma’mar; from Hammām;

from Abū Hurayrah (may Allāh be content with him); from the Prophet ﷺ, who said: “Allāh created Ādam (upon whom he peace), and his height was sixty cubits. Then He said, ‘Go and greet those angels, and listen to how they greet you, for it will be your greeting and the greeting of your descendants.’ So he said: Al-Salāmu ‘Alaykum (Peace be upon you). They replied: Al-Salāmu ‘Alayka Wa Raḥmatullāh (Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allāh), adding ‘Wa Raḥmatullāh (and the mercy of Allāh).’ Everyone who enters Paradise will be in the form of Ādam (upon whom be peace), and creation has continued to decrease in stature until now.”
