(Imām Bukhārī narrates): Abdullah bin Abdul Wahab narrated to us, he said: Hammad bin Zaid narrated to us, from Ayyub, from Hafsa, from Hazrat Umm Atiyyah (may Allāh be pleased with her), she says that

we were forbidden from mourning over the deceased for more than three days, except for a husband, over whom one would mourn for four months and ten days. We did not apply kohl, nor perfume, nor wear dyed clothing during mourning, except cloth that was woven with color already in it, and we were permitted, when we bathed for purification from menstruation, to apply a little perfume, and we were forbidden from following funeral processions.

(Imam Bukhari said:) This hadith has been narrated by Hisham bin Hassan, from Hafsa, from Umm Atiyyah, from the Prophet ﷺ.
